Common questions

Open Nomad Echo and tap Create a Circle on the welcome screen. Give your circle a name and share the invite code with family members. They tap Join a Circle and enter the code. You're the guardian once you create the circle.
Every member has a personal Rejoin Code. Before reinstalling, go to Settings → Your Rejoin Code and tap Share to save it. After reinstalling, tap Rejoining after reinstall? on the welcome screen and enter your code.

If you didn't save your code, ask your circle's guardian to remove you and send a new invite.
  1. Go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Nomad Echo. Set it to Always.
  2. Make sure Background App Refresh is enabled: Settings → General → Background App Refresh → Nomad Echo.
  3. Ensure the device has a data or Wi-Fi connection.
  4. If in Ghost Mode, location sharing is paused — that's expected.
Check that notifications are enabled: iOS Settings → Nomad Echo → Notifications → Allow Notifications. Also check in-app Settings → Notifications to ensure the specific alert types you want are turned on. Push notifications only work on physical devices, not simulators.
Guardians can remove members from Settings → Circle Members. Tap Remove next to the member's name. This immediately removes them from the circle and deletes their data. This action cannot be undone.
Ghost Mode pauses your location sharing for 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours, or indefinitely. Your circle will see your last known location and a ghost indicator. Guardians are notified when you activate Ghost Mode. Guardians can also disable Ghost Mode for specific members from Settings.
Subscriptions are managed through the App Store. On iPhone, go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Nomad Echo, then tap Cancel Subscription. Your plan remains active until the end of the billing period.
Family plan subscribers can export location history from Insights → Export. Choose a date range and format (JSON or CSV), then tap Export to share or save the file. Free plan members can view history in-app but cannot export.
